Managing Director, Head of Conning North America

Michael E. Haylon is a Managing Director and Head of Conning North America. Since joining in 2012, he has at various times headed up the sales and marketing, product development, investment and insurance research teams. Mr. Haylon has extensive industry and investment experience, having held the positions of Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer at the Phoenix Companies, and previously as a portfolio manager, analyst and trader at Aetna Capital Management, Aetna Life and Casualty and Travelers Insurance Companies. He has also served on the boards of directors of three publicly traded investment management firms. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College with a degree in economics and government and earned an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
